Blog Give-A-Way!

I decided to end 2010 with a blog give-a-way! Leave me a message here along with your name and a way I can get back to you and you could win these fun earrings that I've created for just this occasion! Although I am addicted to paper, I enjoy my jewelry as well! These earrings are made using sterling silver findings along with deep red Swarovski chrystals and a lovely clear fauceted bead. It's my way of thanking you for your support of my ART this past year. Tell your friends too if you think they may like to win. I'll be very fair and everyone has the same chance!
Happy New Year!

Beautiful Snow for Christmas!

Christmas Day brought beautiful snow in the early evening and it continued until past noon the day after! You can't help but love it - we just don't have this type snow very often and I know it brought many smiles to us in North Carolina!
Today may be another thing though for the parents that have to get out and head to jobs.
How lucky I am to be able to be tucked in a warm cozy home by the fireplace and enjoy the beauty of nature...can't beat ART like this! This picture was taken from out back door and this was during a lull so we had much more than I'm showing here! The clumped down bush is usually quite large but the snow has beat it down and there were birds hunkered down staying warm inside! All of our feeders are near there and we made sure they were full for our pet (haha) birds! My niece's little boy (almost 2) just stood at his front door jumping up and down loving it! Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful snow....what a beautiful sight!
I'm ready to begin some new ART so please come back soon! I've begun to pack up my Christmas ART supplies and am ready to pull out Valentine supplies....how about you? Thanks for your visit today and see you again soon!
Enjoy your day!

Christmas is Coming!

The parties and gatherings with friends and family are taking place and I know for sure that Christmas is coming! Its surely the most wonderful time of the year! We are heading out again tonight to a family meal at the Olive Garden and there will be 14 of us.
I keep wishing and hoping our son will make it down and just show up there....I can always wish! I'm about ready to put away my Christmas papers but I'll leave some on the shelf in case I have Christmas all year long in 2011!
The ART tag of today is one I sent to my dear friend, Penny! She is so very special to me and has been for many years.....how lucky I was to have her name in a swap over in ARTHaven! She has received it and liked it.
We have had a cold December and even this weekend we had some snow flakes falling and for as beautiful as they were they just hit the ground and soon melted....one day we will have more than a dusting I am sure! I'm not sure how many more postings I'll have until after Christmas, but I wanted to take the time to wish each of you Happy ARTing and Merry Christmas! You have helped make it a dog gone good ART year and I've so enjoyed your encouragement and comments on my blog....Merry Christmas!
Enjoy your day!

Surprise! It's Not a Cookie!

Over in ARTHaven we exchanged our favorite cookie recipes and while this one is certainly not a cookie recipe, I didn't catch my mistake until I had mailed them....thankfully, not a one of those sweet friends mentioned my blunder! However, this is an all time favorite recipe that makes just a wonderful dessert when you have family or guests coming! And yes, I'm a chocolate lover and this fits the bill perfectly! If you are looking for a great goodie to serve at a gathering then do give this a try!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you'll come again soon! Merry Christmas, friends!
Enjoy your day!

Christmas at Our Home!

It can never be said that we don't enjoy the holiday season! I told some friends that I would share our holiday decorating and I'm doing that today!
Our tree in the den is just loaded down with ornaments from many years - lots of beautiful glass ones, but some of the most treasured ones are the handmade ones from my ART friends and the ones from our son and his sons...they are just the bestest! LOL! Some of these have held up quite a few years and others are newer! One Santa my son made from a toilet tissue roll had to be retired but he is kept in a plastic bag and is still just wonderful - so many sweet memories! I am trying to show a friend just how I love snowmen (snow people) but this really doesn't begin to show the collection as I have them scattered around and actually all over the house! Anyway....we are ready for Christmas! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
Thanks for stopping by my home and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all!
Enjoy your day!

Chistmas Tags!

I created several Christmas ART tags this year and really enjoyed this image of Father Christmas. I used this tag in a swap over in ARTHaven and I also made a few of these to go on my gifts this year. I liked the vintage look and loved them on my country decorated packages. I started with a tan cardstock to cut my tag and used Tims paper distresser to age and sand the edges. I used Vintage Photo distress ink on both the tag and photo. The Merry Christmas was added next using a clear stamp in black ink. Yep, I topped it off with raffia!
Thank you for stopping by - I always enjoy your visits! Leave a comment if you will!
Enjoy your day!

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas.....

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, twelve song birds singing, eleven fun butterflies, ten Days in Paris, 9 daisy bunches, eight pretty baubbles, seven sprigs of Holly, six bells a ringing, 5 lovely blooms ..., four fun coupons, three gold hearts, two Tim Holtz dies, and a Christmas tree from Santa Claus!
This concludes my fun 12 Days of Christmas ART book and I'm almost sad that I'm at my last page to share....it was indeed a fun tall skinny ART book to put together and I hope you have enjoyed the sharing of my book right along with me. This page is another beautiful stamp by Magenta that I truly love....I can just hear those blue birds singing a sweet Christmas song now! It was well worth sanding and distressing each page and praying my partner would enjoy the little book for years to come. This book went to Shirley over in ARTHaven and she has expressed her happiness over receiving it. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my friends and I do thank you for your comments as they keep me posting and sharing my ART creations. Do visit again as I have a few other Christmas items to share with you and soon I'll be featuring another fun swap I joined over in An Affair with ART where we created and swapped 12 small handmade gifts for our fun Christmas there!
Enjoy your day!

On the Tenth Day of Christmas.....

On the Tenth Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, Ten Days in Paris, 9 daisy bunches, eight pretty baubbles, seven sprigs of Holly, six bells a ringing, 5 lovely blooms..., four fun coupons, three gold hearts, two Tim Holtz dies, and a Christmas tree from Santa Claus! Has this not been just the bestest Christmas from my true love....well, so far so good! Again this page is sanded and distressed and I used one of my all time favorite lady stamps from Hero ARTs as my focal point - no matter what color I do this lady in, I always love her!
I'm thrilled you have checked in to see my 12 Days of Christmas ART book and hope you enjoy day ten, but do come again as Day 11 is ready to be posted. Thanks for your comments which always make me happy and for your visits.

On the Eighth Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, eight pretty baubbles, seven sprigs of Holly, six bells a ringing, 5 lovely blooms..., four
fun coupons, three gold hearts, two Tim Holtz dies, and a Christmas tree from Santa Claus! I had to scan this with the sheer bag of baubbles not attached, but I did attach it before sending it out to Shirley!

On the Seventh Day of Christmas......

On the Seventh Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, seven sprigs of Holly, six bells a ringing, 5 lovely blooms, four fun coupons, three gold hearts, two Tim Holtz dies, and a Christmas Tree from Santa Claus! This page though sanded and distressed rather stood on its own and I decided to only add the tiny red berries to the holly....after all, my book is getting rather thick with altered ART! And besides, I loved the simplicity of this page and all it represents.
Thanks for your comments and for your visits each day...come see what the Eighth Day of Christmas tomorrow!
Enjoy your day!

On the Sixth Day of Christmas......

On the Sixth Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, Six Bells a Ringing, 5 Lovely Blooms, Four Fun Coupons, Three Gold Hearts, Two Tim Holtz Dies, and a Christmas Tree from Santa Claus! Halfway through my 12 Days of Christmas book and how fun it was to put together. This page is quite pretty but due to the raised bells that actually ring-a-ling I could not get a better scan to share! Once again, this page is quite distressed and the bells are sewn (ha, imagine me with a needle and thread in my hands!) onto the gold ribbon. Thanks again for checking out my ART book to my friend, Shirley, and for all comments. Do come back tomorrow and see what my true love gave to me on Day #7!
Enjoy your day!

On the Fifth Day of Christmas......

On the Fifth Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, 5 Lovely Blooms, four fun coupons, three gold hearts, two Tim Holtz dies, and a Christmas Tree from Santa Clause! Yes, this is a very simple but elegant ART page and one I loved the best! I cut out the poinsettias and leaves using BossCut dies with my Big Shot and added the small yellow flower brad....and yes, these do hang off the page! Again the page was distressed and sanded. I hope Shirley enjoys this page as much as I did creating it for her! It makes me want to shout, Merry Christmas!
Enjoy your day!

On the Fourth Day of Christmas......

On the Fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me four fun coupons, three gold heart, two Tim Holtz dies and a Christmas tree from Santa Claus! How fun to use these play and wish tickets for the fourth day of Christmas....these came from my awesome friend Angie and I knew I'd have a special place to use them...none better than a Christmas book that will be kept and cherished! Stay turned tomorrow when I share Day 5 ART with you! Thanks for your visit and comments.
