Goodbye 2009 - Happy New Year!

In a way it is sad to me to say goodbye to another year, but I'm eagerly looking forward to 2010. I'm wondering what it will bring to me, my loved ones, and friends as we usher in another year. Good things; I'm always hoping for!
Today I'm spending time in my little ARTspot and playing with wallpaper among other things. I'm also in the mood to create a couple of pretty envelopes to send my cards in. I've made a few resolutions, but not many that I can't meet...at least, not if I set my mind to it! I'm wishing all of you a very prosperous New Year! Enjoy!

Let It Snow!

I wanted to share my ART for the Lottery over in ARTHaven for the month of December - yep, you got it - a Snow theme! These are chipboard pieces that came in a box by Brenda Walton that I glued together to create my Snow scene. I then glued a pin on the back to finish this lapel pin!
It's rather cheery and bright if you like snow or are wishing for some snow - around these parts, we don't see much so this pin made me happy!
The winner will be announced tomorrow and it may be you!
Thanks for stopping by and for your comments regarding my ART. I'm off to do some blog hopping this morning and hope to visit your blog today. By the way, I just love my new blog design thanks to my talented friend, Penny - be sure to check out her beautiul ART, blog designs and cut files here.
Enjoy your day!

Another Hangie Danglie!

I'm sharing some of the ART I made and sent to friends as Christmas gifts this year. This one scanned a little dark and and was such a nice light green shade. My friend seemed to like it and I really enjoy creating these, "Hangie Danglies" - named this because they hang by something and have something dangling at the bottom!
I've enjoyed your visit and hope you will stop by often and I always enjoy your comments! I've already blog hopped this morning, so I'll be playing in my ARTspot!
Enjoy your day!

Tag Booklet

I thought I'd share another ART gift I made for a friend this Christmas

now that I know it has been received! This is a tag booklet and I'm showing the front cover and then it opened so you can see the tags I made and included in the inside pockets. This little booklet can be filled with whatever you like - I sent another to a friend that had seed packs in it....Shelly, I haven't forgotten I owe you fresh seed packs this Spring. She received her seed booklet in the winter and I promised to send fresh seeds in the Spring as she does love her plants! Anyway, you can see how versatile this little booklet is. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments. Enjoy your day!

The Day After!

Christmas has come and gone, but it truly was "the most wonderful time of the year"! We had a truly nice Christmas and were blessed to have our grandson, Christopher, with us.
We missed our son and other grandsons, but it was fun to have one in our home! Santa was very good to us - so, I decided that we had to be doing a little bit okay even if it doesn't seem so most of the time!
My computer has a major glitch and I'm unable to scan and share at this time, so I'm real sad about that. However, I have a couple of ART things scanned that I had planned to share with you after Christmas, so here goes:
This lovely button fairy I made as a Christmas present for a dear friend....I'm hoping you have opened this by now, Cathy!
I chose buttons I had on hand, along with a lady image I was given a year or so ago. I added the wings cut from a dictionary page of cardstock that I aged. All in all, I thought this turned out to be a nice button fairy and I was quite pleased to send it to a friend!
I'll be blog hoppin in the next couple of days, including today, so I hope to drop by and chat with you for a bit soon. Thanks for your visits and for all comments posted!
Enjoy your day!

Joy to the World!

I am full of Christmas joy and almost feel childlike as I await the big day! Yesterday I made this little ART tag for a friend and enjoyed so much listening to Christmas music while designing and completing it. Tami, this tag is winging its way to you - I'm helping someone that could not fulfil a swap, so I tried to make it special like you are to me! If each person that views my tag says, "Joy to the World" about 5 times in a row, I know it will make you feel good and put a smile on your face! It sure did mine yesterday and it prompted me to email a friend and check on her...I've been missing her.
Thanks for stopping by and know that I enjoyed your visit! I'll be blog hopping later and hope to stop by yours.
Merry Christmas and Enjoy your Day!

25 Days of Christmas - #20 - My Day!

Giftie #20 in our 25 Days of Christmas was from me!

I had to "lift" this picture from my friend Shelly's blog because I did not scan the item. I had a lot of fun creating these and they packaged nicely and shipped well. I used german gold scrap all around the picture. The hole is to hang this on the Christmas tree and I did include gold hangers for eeryone to use. The pictures are mounted on laminate samples from Home Depot. Ladies, I hope each and every one of you enjoy my Christmas giftie to you! Merry Christmas!

Enjoy your day!

Sharing My ART

I have so enjoyed sharing the 25 Days of Christmas with you and still have a few more days of it, but I wanted to share some of my ART with you. This is a small book I altered for my dear friend, Penny. Penny is also the wonderful leader of our ARTHaven friendship group and a gracious person....she has also been my friend for many years and that has been a blessing in itself. This is a little handbook on friendship, so it was an appropriate book to alter for her! She has received it and seemed so pleased, so you know that it pleased me! I have a few other pieces to share with you before Christmas and of course, the next giftie! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you care to leave. I'm off to do some blog hopping myself.
Enjoy your day!

25 Days of Christmas - #18 & #19

I continue to have fun with this swap! Who doesn't enjoy opening fun gifts every morning during the holiday season! Giftie #18 is a real neat wooden frame with a bingo center...then special holiday items all around it.
Thank you, Joan! Giftie #19 is a stitched little heart pillow with a lovely mermaid and shell attached at the top! Thank you, Elaine....this will be an all year round favorite!
Tomorrow is my gift...stay tuned for it. I'm not as ARTistic as some of these ladies, but I hope it meets the test! Thanks for your visit! Enjoy your day!

What Fun!

For the past couple of days, I've been trying some different ART techniques and thought I'd share a couple of them with you. The snowman tag I made for Wanda in an ARTHaven swap. I wanted to do a fun tag so chose different colors for this one. I cut the tag out with my Silhouette and added a bottom border of fat fluffy snowmen! I then added the phrase, Let It Snow several tiems and adhered a snowman and snowflakes with my Crop-a-dile. I couldn't resist stamping a little snowman too, he is sparkly and his hat and scarf are green and white too. I added a little red using T Holtz distress ink. I then used some holographic embossing powder that a friend gave to me. Very different for me, but fun!
The snowman ATC was so much fun to create and the technique is new to me and instructions were given by Eileen in ARTHaven too. Yes, this is another ARTHaven swap! I used a piece of lace on white sticky cardstock - it adhered and then I removed the lace and added Martha Stewart tinsel flakes to cover the rest of the sticky cardstock. I added my stamped snowmen, cut them out and attached them to the ATC.....then I sprayed the entire piece with clear acrylic sealer....it's great in person and I do wish you could see the sparkle from the glitter! What fun to try different things!
Thanks for stopping by and leave a note if you care to. Merry Christmas everyone!

25 Days of Christmas - #16 & 17

I have little gifties everywhere from the 25 Days of Christmas and I'm really enjoying the heck out of these! Day #16 brought beautiful handblown glass buttons from Kate - wohoooo - thank you, Kate! One is quite small and the other a medium size in shades of purples...just lovely to hold and look at. Day #17 from Julie is a wonderful glass snowman made from a salt shaker...the top part is the hat on his syrofoam head! There is so much bling and glitter on this snowman and even on the inside of the shaker. I love him, Julie and thank you so much!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's giftie! Enjoy your day!

25 Days of Christmas - #11 & #12

What a delightful time the 25 Days of Christmas swap has been!

Day #11 brought an awesome bamboo charm from Candy...and best of all, it is double sided! I'm sorry that my scan does not show the beautiful red swirly wire from it.

Day #12 I opened a lovely beaded and felted half moon necklace from Amy - how exciting as I have never had anything felted by hand before!

Thanks to both Candy and Amy! I'm liking this a lot and we are now half way through our 25 Days of Christmas. Come back tomorrow as I'll have more to share! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

25 Days of Christmas - #9

I'm a tad partial to this giftie (day #9) because it is from my long time friend, Shelly , and I know some of the story behind this wonderful handmade ornament! The pictures Shelly used in her ART are actually of her family, so that makes them even more touching. I love the background paper and the glitter flakes she used to achieve this elegant ornament - thank you, Shelly!
Tomorrow I open yet another fun gift, so stay tuned!
Thanks for your visit and do come often!
Enjoy your day!

25 Days of Christmas - #7 & 8

I've been very sick with a sinus infection and have felt lousy... so I'm catching up on my 12 Days of Christmas posting. Day #7 is the most lovely bobbin from Gwynn - thank you so much, Gwynn.
You put so much work into decorating it with the music theme....just outstanding and I'm happy to have it. Today (#8) is from Liana and it is the most wonderful little 12 Days of Christmas book that she made by hand. When you open it up it has a stamped page for each of the days - love it and am excited at the way she did this little book - thank you, Liana! Oh how fun this little exchange is...I'm loving the countdown to Christmas!
Enjoy your day!

25 Days of Christmas - #1

Over in An Affair with ART, I'm participating in a 25 Days of Christmas swap. We were to create something ARTsy for each participant and have them to each person so we can all open our gifts together. Today is day #1 of the swap and this gift is just lovely!!! I'm thrilled with this button fairy and it is going on my tree tonight! The winds have glitter and these buttons are beautiful too....and done in my favorite color, blue! Thanks, Yoop, for such a heartfelt gift...I'm treasuring it! Stay tuned tomorrow as I open #2. Thanks for your visit and for any comments! I sure wish you were a part of this swap - it's going to be so much fun!
